Absolutely fabulous! We rented the 3 BR/ 3BA loft on 3rd floor of the east building. The unit was perfect. Very nicely decorated, and equipped with everything our family needed for a comfortable, enjoyable time.
The beauty of this place is the location. It's situated such that a 6-8 minute walk puts you at the base of Peak 9 where you can grab the Quicksilver Lift for terrific skiing. It's also a 5 minute walk to downtown. You couldn't ask for a better location.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Can't wait to try it for summer!
Our family recently enjoyed a fabulous getaway weekend to the beautiful mountains of Breckenridge (just about 90 minutes from Denver). We stayed in a 2-bedroom condo in The Corral by Mountain West Lodging, and based on our wonderful experience, it will be very difficult to stay in a hotel ever again!
We were vacationing with two children (ages 4 & 7) and The Corral has thought of everything to take the headaches out of traveling. Not only was the condo very spacious (it had 2 separate bedrooms, a living room down the hall from the bedrooms, a full kitchen AND a dining room), but it was stocked full of everything you might need and didn't think to bring (including night lights, step stools, fans, scissors and even a baby gate). There was also a full, modern kitchen with all the utensils, dishes and supplies you would need to prepare your own meals. The living room had a cozy fireplace, along with a bookshelf stocked with books and games to keep kids of all ages (and adults) entertained. The condo was decorated in a rustic lodge motif- complete with a log mantel and skis on the wall. There were even photos of the owners on the walls along with helpful notes from them throughout the condo, so you really felt like personal guests in a home. To top it all off, the back deck had an absolutely breathtaking view of the mountains, along with a grill and hot tub for our enjoyment.
Upon checking in, we received a garage door opener for our assigned heated garage (which I imagine is even more of a perk when it is snowing outside) and found 3 sleds hanging inside. The very friendly staff was helpful in pointing out a local park that was popular for sledding and even pointed out the specific directions on a Breckenridge map. It was the first time sledding for both of the kiddos and we all made some great memories. We then headed to the local grocery store and stocked the fridge with drinks, snacks and food to make our own breakfast and lunches (this probably saved us at least a hundred bucks or so). We hit the town for a dinner out at a local Mexican restaurant, which we found out about from the previous condo visitors who had left comments and recommendatons in the guestbook. We were amazed by all the beautiful holiday lights and decorations- with the snow-covered mountains in the background, we felt like we were our own holiday greeting card.
Breckenridge is a great town with lots of great shopping, restaurants and things to do. We are a family of non-skiers ourselves but we had a fantastic time just relaxing, walking around, taking a dip in the hot tub and just being together. My husband and I also really enjoyed the quiet time in the evenings, when we sent the kids off to their OWN room and just sat and watched TV in the living room in front of the fire. All-in-all, it will be difficult to ever go back to our usual cramped hotel stays, when we know that such relaxing, convenient and beautiful condos are available in great travel destinations.
Mountain West Lodging has units with one-bedroom (sleeps up to 4), two-bedrooms (sleeps up to 6), 3-bedrooms (sleeps up to 8) and a 3-bedroom plus a loft, which sleeps up to 10. Nightly rates vary depending on the time of year, although I can't imagine a bad time of year to visit Breckenridge!
